Nancy is an excellent example of a lifelong learner. As a leader and first adopter in technology, she teaches herself every new piece of technology and software. She has an extensive online PLC that she uses as a resource to learn about technology and teaching with technology. She attends MACUL. Technology is in the fiber of her being – it is intuitive with her and she sees the possibilities it offers. Nancy doesn't whine about new technology, she totally converts! Chrome, google docs, weebly, Zite app., she evolves with the technology. Eastover Elementary benefits from Nancy’s expertise because she is quick to share her knowledge. Classroom teachers see what Nancy teaches in her classroom and often ask her to teach them. Fourth grade teacher, Paul Schmmick said of Nancy, “My favorite suggestion from her was how I could improve my students' learning and cooperative skills by using two iPad applications, Padlet and Thinglink. Señora Conn took the time to teach my students, and then me, how easy and immediately effective it was to use Padlet. It has become an easily accessible app to use that allows me to assess my students' understanding of a concept at a quick glance. She has also given my students, on her own time, instruction on Thinglink. This application will be most useful for our upcoming exhibition where, by using their iPads and the Promethean Board, they will be able to share their research of an environmental topic using images, text, sound and video."
